With maker party season well underway, Mozilla and The Public Library are hoping to encourage the spread of Web literacy.

Members of Hive CHA will present a maker party at the library on Saturday, Aug. 2 from noon to 3 p.m.

Members of Mozilla’s local HIVE Chattanooga attended a maker party event at the Bronx Library Center in New York. They will bring the information they learned to the Chattanooga event.

Dev Dev code camp graduates and educators from across the region will be on hand to help participants get started building, exploring and creating on the Web.

The party is designed to introduce new Web literacy skills, information about digitally focused after-school programs for the coming year and resources to keep exploring the Web.

The 2014 Mozilla maker party season will produce nearly 2,000 events in over 300 cities.

Everyone is invited.
