All five of Hamilton County's recycling centers will accept Christmas trees throughout the month of January.

Each center will have a designated spot outside the gate to dispose of the old trees.

Donated trees will be used by the Tennessee Department of Wildlife and Forestry Division and the Hamilton County Highway Department. The two organizations mulch the trees to use for walking trails, landscaping and landfill ground cover. Also, Hamilton County residents can pick up mulch from the chip yard on Standifer Gap Road at no charge.
