The costs of bacon and chocolate are increasing, which may come as sad news for some readers.
The Huffington Post listed bacon and chocolate as two of four foods that are rising in cost. That article also noted that the cost of honey crisp apples is decreasing.
Sliced bacon cost $3.16 per pound in October 2003. In October 2013, it cost $5.71 per pound, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
As for chocolate, The Wall Street Journal reported recently that the cost of a kilogram of chocolate is expected to hit a record this year. That's a 45 percent increase since 2007.
So what does that mean for bacon-flavored chocolate?
