Airline passengers will soon be able to use electronic devices throughout their flights, including during takeoffs and landings, officials announced Thursday.
The Wall Street Journal reported in June that Federal Aviation Administration leaders were expected to relax rules about the use of electronic devices on airplanes.
And CNN reported Thursday that experts spent recent months studying the situation.
So far, rules have prohibited passengers from using electronic devices, such as cellphones, until the plane is traveling above 10,000 feet, also according to CNN.
Despite the new changes, passengers still won't be able to talk on cellphones during flights, CNN reported.
