“Difficult” live music at Sluggo’s
Chattanooga’s Secret Weave productions presents three bands that promise to make your Monday a little weirder than normal. The bands appearing at Sluggo’s North Vegetarian Cafe tonight inlcude New York City-based Child Abuse, Staer from Norway, and Chattanooga’s own soilcore band (whatever that means), Segamented Worms. According to the invite page, this will be an “evening of defiantly extreme music overflowing with HEART, BRAINS, AND WEIRDO JUICE.” DJ Twinmaker will also spin some tunes during the night.

Monday Mantra Meditation
Using sound as an object for attention, the ancient tradition of mantra meditation uses singing bowls and voice to return to the breath. The Center for Mindful Living hosts a free, 45-minute meditation on Monday evenings for newcomers and experienced meditators. The first 10-15 minutes will consist of a yoga pose of your choice, followed by 20 minutes of mantra meditation and 10 minutes of silence.
