The best from Week 6:
Senior George Porter, Baylor
Porter paced the Red Raiders’ offense once again, running for 170 yards and three touchdowns in Baylor’s 38-14 win over arch rival McCallie on Friday. The senior tailback scored on a pair of three-yard runs before finally busting a big one late — a 61-yard scamper down the sidelines, all but ending the Blue Tornado’s chances.
Senior Tre Herndon, East Hamilton
Herndon came up huge for the Hurricanes in their 21-20 victory over District 5-AAA foe Cleveland. The Vanderbilt commitment returned a second-quarter kickoff 81 yards for his first score of the evening, and later in the contest, Herndon, who finished with four catches for 90 yards, turned a short pass from quarterback Hunter Moore into a 65-yard touchdown reception.
Senior Brett Standifer, Bradley Central
The Bears came up short on Friday night, but senior signal caller Brett Standifer certainly did his part. Standifer accounted for all four Bradley Central touchdowns on the evening, completing 20-of-35 pass attempts for 250 yards and three scores, while also finding the end zone on the ground in the 28-26 setback at Ooltewah.
Senior Tyler Davis, Cleveland
Davis and the Blue Raiders came out on the losing end Friday, but the senior receiver had quite a first half, hauling in four catches for 104 yards, including a 40-yard touchdowns reception from quarterback Austin Herink. Cleveland was limited to just over 100 yards of total offense in the final two quarters, though.
Senior Isaiah Robinson, Hixson
He wasn’t even his team’s leading rusher in Friday’s District 6-AA showdown with East Ridge, but Hixson’s Isaiah Robinson eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on the season with his 118-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Pioneers. Teammate Kedrick Bradley had quite a night, too, piling up 131 yards on 22 carries in the 19-14 win.
