Entrepreneur, photographer and pilot Ron Lowery, 69, is working to raise money via a Kickstarter campaign to publish a book of photographs of the Tennessee River.
"The previous book I did, I went to China to print it because it's cheaper," he said. "I'm trying to raise enough to print it here."
He has been a pilot for more than 20 years and has reinvented himself several times, he said.
He's been a commercial photographer and had success with stock photography.
"Tennessee River: Sparkling Gem of the South" is an eye-opening view of one of America’s great but underappreciated rivers, according to his Kickstarter page.
The 144-page book is hardback with a foiled and embossed cover and with color images throughout.

Lowery has six more days to reach his goal. He is 17 percent of the way there.
There are three other local projects whose leaders are working to raise money via Kickstarter.
One of the projects is focused on raising awareness about vegan diets. Click here to read a recent Nooga.com story about that.
For another project, Brandon Ellis and chef Jernard Wells are working to raise money to start a gourmet hot wing food truck.
"Our mission is to provide over-the-top flavors of wings and noodles, all over the Tennessee River Valley region and beyond," according to the duo's Kickstarter page.
And another duo is raising money to release their first music single. Click here to read more about that.
