In a closely contested popular vote, The Honest Pint was dubbed Chattanooga’s Favorite Burger at the inaugural Chattanooga Burger Battle on Saturday.
"The jam burger" is a "half-pint burger" topped with caramelized onions, bleu cheese and a housemade bacon jam. The ingredients come together on a bun from Niedlov’s Breadworks.
Other prizes were also awarded by the judges. Tremont Tavern earned praise from judges as Chattanooga’s Best Classic Burger for their "Tavern burger." Armando’s at Chester Frost was awarded Chattanooga’s Best Extreme Burger for their "PBJ."
The judges were chef Charlie Loomis, chef Eric Niel of Easy Bistro and Cowboy Kyle of US101.
According to a statement released by organizers, more than 200 people attended the event.
All proceeds went to the Forgotten Child Fund, a charity that helps provide a Christmas for less fortunate children in the area.
Other participants were Blacksmith’s, Hair of the Dog and Southern Burger Company.
