From time to time, we come across some strange products. This occasional series will feature the strangest of the strange.
What if you could just toss out the entire trashcan with the trash? A company has taken that idea and formed a new product for consumers.
The company, Clean Cubes, has introduced a cubed trashcan that, once filled, is simply thrown away or tossed into a recycling bin.
Each cube—sold in packages of three—comes equipped with a trash liner already built in to prevent leaks. The cube unfolds like a paper bag, and every component is biodegradable.
Clean Cubes have a retail value of $9.99 per package but can be found online for cheaper prices.
What do they look like? Well, they’re cute! At least as cute as a trash receptacle can be.
Clean Cubes also come in "darling designs" for use in offices or for quick pickup during a party.
Amazon.com reviews are mainly positive for the product, with the exception of a few comments questioning the sturdiness of the product.
"Keep from running around, picking up plates and empty cups, and making repeated trips to the garbage bin at your next party," says a release from the company. "You won’t have to worry about sticky and smelly plastic trashcans once the party is over."
Clean Cubes received the 2012 Housewares Association Innovation Award. The product is also a bronze winner of a 2013 Edison Award for product innovation in the category of household items.
