A two-day festival to celebrate boats, bands and booze on the Ocoee River is still planned for this weekend, despite a rockslide and road closure.
Ford Quarterman, marketing director for Ocoee Fest, said that nothing has changed regarding the festival.
"I’ve been told all river activities will proceed as normal," he said. "We should be good to go."
The concern was a rockslide near mile marker 11 on U.S. 64 that temporarily closed both lanes of traffic.
As of Friday afternoon, TDOT had managed to clear one lane of traffic. Crews are expected to continue to work on the road throughout the weekend.
Ocoee Fest will feature two days of live music, a craft beer contest and kayaking.
More information on the festival, which begins Saturday afternoon, can be found at OcoeeFest.com.
