If you were born in the ‘80s, chances are you’ll immediately recognize Connie Shulman’s voice.
She was on Nickelodeon's animated series "Doug" in the early ‘90s as the voice of Patti Mayonnaise.
After a hiatus from the industry to raise her kids, Shulman has bounced back in a big way with the role of Erica "Yoga" Jones on the hit Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black."
Born in Johnson City, Tenn., Shulman is the older sister of former UTC men’s basketball coach John Shulman. She moved to New York to pursue her acting career.
Other than her decade of voice work on "Doug," Shulman has appeared in several feature-length films, including "The Faculty," "He Said, She Said," "Weekend at Bernie's II" and "Sweet and Lowdown." She played Missy in the 1991 smash hit "Fried Green Tomatoes." She was also a part of the original stage cast of "Steel Magnolias."
"Orange Is the New Black" is a Netflix original series from Jenji Kohan, the creator of "Weeds." The story follows Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) as she navigates life in a minimum-security women’s prison.
