The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport is getting new concessions after consumers requested more options.
At the August meeting of the board of commissioners, leaders with the Chattanooga Airport Authority approved an agreement with Tailwind Concessions.
Tailwind will provide all concessions within the airport starting in October.
"We listened closely to our customers and employees and feel that this is a very strong solution to provide a superior-quality food and beverage experience and outstanding service," Terry Hart, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Airport Authority, said in a prepared statement. "The new service will also be complemented with the completely renovated concession areas in the terminal and gate areas."
Tailwind Concessions specializes is concessions in regional airports, currently serving airports in nine cities across the country, including Tri Cities, Tenn., Gainesville, Fla., Bloomington, Ill., and Shreveport, La.
Tailwind Concessions will begin operation Oct. 1 in a temporary location until the airport renovation is complete in February 2014.
A spokeswoman for the airport said the menu had not been worked out yet.
