Leaders announced today that Enzo's will be the location of Tuesday's cash mob and the spot for a networking event aimed to help those laid off from Carey Brown companies.
A cash mob is when a group of people goes to a small business on a designated day to make purchases.
The events are driven by social media, and leaders give hints about the location prior to the announcement.
Tuesday's event at Enzo's Market is from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the 1501 Long St. location.
River City leaders, who organize the cash mobs, suggest that customers make purchases of $10-$20.
Anyone who makes a $20 purchase Tuesday will be entered to win a $100 gift card.
Chattanooga's Social Media Club and Social Media Alliance are also collaborating to help laid-off employees.
On Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., the organizations are hosting a monthly Social Pour mixer.
The mixer had already been planned as an after-party for the River City Company's cash mob. The goal was to bring additional revenue to the cash mob location and bring local professionals together to celebrate local business.
Leaders repurposed Social Pour as a job hunting mixer for IT professionals, designers, customer service programmers, marketers, copywriters and anyone else displaced by the Carey Brown layoffs.
