The last Blockbuster in Chattanooga is closing.

The store on Highway 58 will close June 13, and there is currently a going-out-of-business sale underway.

In April 2011, Dish Network bought the bankrupt business for $320 million, according to Nooga.com archives.

And ValueWalk.Com reported at the beginning of this month that Dish Network's first-quarter earnings dropped 40 percent.

"The satellite company was hit by various factors, including the effects of a price increase, rising programming costs and the continued downturn at Blockbuster," according to the article.

There were about 650 Blockbuster stores at the end of March, according to the article. That's down 150 in the quarter, and leaders have plans to close more, also according to ValueWalk.com.

Locations on Lee Highway, Gunbarrel Road and Dayton Boulevard closed in 2011, according to Nooga.com archives.
