Wondering what to do tonight? No need to check your planner—we’ve got your daily post on what’s happening around town.

Art on a string
Because art is not a purely visual medium, the Hunter Museum of American Art combines two senses for one night of art and music. The Bluff View institution hosts a conversation about the museum’s collection, followed by a performance by world-renowned violinist Shmuel Ashkenasi and pianist Gloria Chien of Shubert's, Dvorak's and Brahms' works.

When: 5:30 p.m.
Where: 10 Bluff View
How much: $25 for members, $35 for nonmembers

Local plus local
Local beer plus local pizza—what a dinner! Thirsty Thursday just got a whole lot more interesting down at Moccasin Bend Brewing Company’s basement tasting room. New-to-town food truck Local Slice will be at the St. Elmo brewery tonight, offering Chattanooga-bred pies to complement the stout, sour, blond, wheat and hoppy beers. A slice from the truck window between 6 and 8 p.m. earns you a free pint, too.

When: 6-9 p.m.
Where: 4015 Tennessee Ave.
How much: $8 for a 10-inch pizza, pints for $4
