Former City Councilman Yusuf Hakeem is back on the job after a decision by the Hamilton County Election Commission Wednesday morning.
Hakeem and current District 9 Councilman Peter Murphy were in a dispute over write-in ballots after the March 5 election. Hakeem won that race between the two men by six votes, but because of write-in ballots, he did not have the 50 percent plus one vote needed to win.
The decision by the Election Commission this morning gives Hakeem the win.
