The Chattanooga program picked up a late addition to its 2013 recruting class on Wednesday, as Mocs coach Heath Eslinger announced the addition of Corey Mock. Mock will transfer to UTC from the University of North Carolina and have two seasons of eligibility remaining, starting in the fall of 2013.

Mock has compiled a 62-27 record in his first two seasons with the Tar Heels, advancing to the NCAA Championships both times.

“Corey fills a big need for us at 165,” Eslinger said. “We lose a conference champion in Josh Condon, but I think Corey has the ability to step right in and be successful at that weight.”

Mock led the Tar Heels with a 36-17 record as a freshman in 2011, posting a third-place finish at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. He finished with a 26-10 mark last season, including a fifth-place showing at the 2012 Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga.

The addition of Mock gives UTC three signees for their upcoming class. Chattanooga has also received signatures from prep standouts Kevin Cooper (Morning View, Ky.) and Michael Pongracz (Milford, N.J.) during the early signing period.
