Blue plus whiskey ... not a bad Wednesday night. (Screenshot: Staff)

Wondering what to do tonight? No need to check your planner—we’ve got your daily post on what’s happening around town.

The Wednesday blues
Part of Husky Burnette’s artist bio proclaims that just as the blues are a religion, the Chattanooga blues man is one of its anointed voices, preaching from the stage rather than the pulpit. With a low and rumbling style that draws on equal parts rock 'n' roll and the gritty strain of blues, Burnette ushers in the last two days of the week, joined by Ringgold act Sweet G.A. Brown at JJ's Bohemia.

When: 9:30 p.m.
Where: 231 E. M.L. King Blvd.
How much: Covers range from $5-$12

“W” is for women and whiskey
That time of the month to celebrate women who can handle a stiff drink is here again. The March Whiskey Women meeting takes place tonight at Urban Stack. For the price of a ticket, the female contingent of Chattanooga’s whiskey connoisseur community will be treated to two cocktails, a flight of Collier and McKeel, Traverse City, W.H. Harrison and Whippersnapper.
