A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a Chattanooga cop Tuesday evening.
This came after the Chattanooga Police Department set up a command post off Brainerd Road near Germantown Road Wednesday morning.
Details are still coming in, and Police Chief Bobby Dodd is expected to release more information in a news conference soon.
Officer William McMillan was shot Tuesday evening at approximately 6 p.m. McMillan, a six-year veteran of the department, was shot at East Lake Courts on Fourth Avenue after responding on a theft complaint. He remains hospitalized in stable condition.
There's no word on what led police to the Brainerd Road area Wednesday morning. Police have not identified the suspect, although he apparently is known to officers.
Tuesday night, Police Chief Bobby Dodd urged family or friends of the suspect to turn him in.
