With roughly a month left in his tenure as mayor, Ron Littlefield will deliver his final State of the City address tonight and reflect on his eight years at Chattanooga's top post.

The speech is open to the public and will take place at the Community Theater of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium at 6 p.m. The theater is located at 399 McCallie Ave.

Littlefield, who was elected mayor in 2005, was in office during several of the city's major recent developments, such as the luring of Volkswagen to build an assembly plant and the installation of the city's gigabit-per-second fiber optic network. He was also the first mayor to be subject to a recall petition.

Before he became mayor of Chattanooga, Littlefield also served for several years on City Council.
