RIO GRANDE, P.R. — Former UTC All-American and Chattanooga Baylor star Stephan Jaeger missed the cut in his first PGA Tour event, but he nevertheless had a solid showing.

Jaeger opened with a 2-under-par 70 on Thursday at the Trump International Golf Club. His round included an eagle at the par-5 second hole, two birdies and two bogeys.

The bogeys came more frequently on Friday, four in all. Jaeger also made three birdies, but his 1-over 73 and 143 total dropped him just shy of the cut line (141).

The tournament, being played the same week as the Tour event at Doral, still has a solid field that includes former major championship winners. Andres Romero leads at 14-under-par.

Another former Baylor player, Luke List, shot 5-undear par for the first 36 holes and is tied for 42. List opened with a 68 and shot 71 on Friday.
