Moc golfers tied for eighth in JMU tournament

ORANGE PARK, Fla. —The Chattanooga women’s golf team is tied for eighth after 18 holes at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational on Friday. UTC shot 302 and is tied with Stetson and East Carolina.

Freshman Emily McLennan (Queensland, Australia) led the way with a 1-under par 71, her first under par round as a collegian. She birdied holes five, 10 and 11 to get to 3-under par where she stayed until a bogey on 15. She bogeyed 18. She is tied for fourth, two strokes behind Ally McDonald (Mississippi State) and Frida Gustafsson Spang (East Carolina).

Sophomore transfer Agathe Sauzon (Valance, France) is next for UTC, tied for 34th at 76. She is a shot ahead of Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark) at 77 with Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) rounding out the counting scores with a 78. Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) shot the drop score, an 80.

Two Mocs played as individuals today. Porsche Campbell fired a 75 (+3) to tie for 21st. Marion Duvernay tied Loza with a 78.

Campbell and Elon are the team leaders after opening with 5-over par totals of 293. Old Dominion is third at 296 with host James Madison checking in fourth at 297.
