Carol Berz and Russell Gilbert, both unopposed, were re-elected to second terms on Chattanooga City Council Tuesday.

Berz, who represents District 6, tallied 1,262 votes in her district, which covers areas of Bonny Oaks, Dalewood, Eastgate, Kingspoint, Lake Hills and Woodmore. Berz is the chief executive director of Private Dispute Resolution Services LLC. 

Gilbert, who represents District 5, scored 1,843 votes in his district, which includes areas of Brainerd, Brainerd Hills, Ooltewah and Tyner. Gilbert is a food service director at Parkridge Valley Hospital. 

Berz and Gilbert will be sworn into their new terms with the rest of the council on April 15.

Updated @ 3:45 p.m. on 4/9/13 to correct a factual error: The new city government leaders will be sworn into their posts April 15, not April 19, as originally reported.
