President Barack Obama granted pardons to 17 inmates Friday, including three from Tennessee.
Among those pardoned are one inmate from Chattanooga and another from Athens, according to a Politico report.
In Chattanooga, Donald Barrie Simon Jr. was pardoned from a two-year sentence. Simon's offense was aiding and abetting in the theft of an interstate shipment.
In Athens, Roy Eugene Grimes Sr. was pardoned from 18 months of probation. Grimes' offenses were forgery-related.
The third Tennessean pardoned by Obama is Donna Kaye Wright from Friendship. Wright was pardoned from 54 days of imprisonment for an offense of embezzlement and misapplication of bank funds.
