“Getting our product in some of our favorite restaurants is wonderful,” Matt Rogers, one of the business' co-founders, said in a prepared statement. “Even better, we’re thrilled to be working with a great local company, learning from their expertise in the beverage and restaurant industries. We know gourmet soda; they know beverage sales—it’s a win-win endeavor.”
Tiffany Rogers, Shawn Clouse and Matt Rogers co-founded the business in 2011, and they started selling the product from a cart at events where local food trucks gathered.
Then they moved into a brick-and-mortar location on the North Shore and recently started bottling their products there.
The team creates small-batch natural sodas made with organic herbs, spices and produce.
Their seasonal flavors are often developed using locally sourced ingredients.
The partnership with Athens—a Tennessee-based, family-owned wine and spirits distributor—will help the team extend the reach of their product.
Trey White, president of Athens Distributing Company, said in a prepared statement that the company is "ecstatic" to represent Pure Sodaworks.
"The company creates unique flavors developed by people right here in our community," he said. "It’s a fantastic product, and we’re looking forward to helping more people discover a special soda that we know they will love. As soon as we learned about them, we knew we wanted to join forces.”
The Pure Sodaworks team recently provided a tasting of its six bottled flavors for the sales force behind Athens Distributing Company.
“The better they know our product, the better they can represent it,” Clouse said in a prepared statement. “We find that our best advertising comes from our fans, so there was no better way to start than to make everyone at Athens Distributing a fan.”
