A deeper truth to romance novels?
It is a fact that one romance novel published by Harlequin or its British doppelganger, Mills & Boon, is purchased by someone in one of the 109 countries where bookstores, grocery stores, Walmart and other retailers carry the books every four seconds. Pause for reaction. Tonight, in honor of the sacred day for romantics, The Public Library screens the PBS documentary "Guilty Pleasures," which navigates through the realm of romance publishing through five story threads and seeks to understand if these dime store paperbacks get at a more meaningful truth about true love.
