One sip of the tropical beverages at the Big Chill or a few minutes of a chair massage at Homespun Events, and perhaps this will become a familiar happy place for the rest of the night. (Photo: Moyan Brenn)

Wondering what to do tonight? No need to check your planner—we’ve got your daily post on what’s happening around town.

Valentine’s Day pre-party
MAC makeup and chair massages and hair styling—oh my! Homespun Events hosts a kickoff for the Valentine’s Day week with a charitable evening just for the fairer sex. Several local vendors will be offering their home products and plan to donate 20 percent of their sales to the Women’s Fund of Greater Chattanooga. The Warehouse Row fete will also include light hors d'oeuvres, beverages and a quick snapshot of this year’s most popular Valentine’s Day gifts, as well as a bit of relationship advice.

When: 6-8 p.m.
Where: 1110 Market St.
How much: Free

A chilled-out Monday
The sky is gray, the ground is wet and it’s Monday—the three things that would make anyone feel the furthest from the beach and a vacation. The Big Chill, however, has a full row of spinning slushy machines filled to the brim with colorful, tropical drinks that are better than anything on a Margaritaville’s menu. A word to the wise: Lay off the orange St. Croix. It’s made with Everclear, and it is only Monday. Maybe stick with the specials instead.

When: 4-8 p.m.
Where: 427 Market St.
How much: $2 for lite draft beers and $4 for daiquiris and double well drinks
