Understanding HIV/AIDS
To commemorate National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, several health care and religious organizations and representatives from the black community are hosting speaker Marye Bernard, Ph.D., at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center.

After working as a family nurse practitioner at Adult Special Care Center at The MED for more than a decade, Bernard has up-close and personal experience with the autoimmune disease’s deadly path through the country’s black population. Dinner, entertainment and door prizes will follow her talk.
