Wondering what to do tonight? No need to check your planner—we’ve got your daily post on what’s happening around town.

California dreaming
The California Guitar Trio, who spoke with Bill Colrus in advance of tonight’s concert at Barking Legs Theater, has been steadily redefining the parameters of guitarists’ and guitar trios’ musical range. The prolific and eccentric artists have produced 17 studio and live albums featuring surf covers and beautiful reimaginings of classical canons, concertos and even lute suites. The group also pulls themes and techniques from blues, jazz, rock and world music. The California Guitar Trio’s latest release, “Masterworks,” features their treatment of pieces by Beethoven, Bach, Vivaldi and Rossini.

A chip off the old ice block

When: Happy hour is 5-7 p.m., ice picks available until 3 a.m.
