Collegedale-based McKee Foods is in talks to buy Hostess' baking company, Drake, which makes snack cakes such as Ring Dings, Yodels and Devil Dogs, according to multiple media reports.
McKee spokesman Mike Gloekler said via email that he couldn't comment on the issue Monday morning because of confidentiality agreements.
But he said more information would be available as early as Monday afternoon.
The Wall Street Journal reported the news Friday.
In November, Hostess Brands, which makes products such as Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Wonder Bread, announced it was going out of business after a weeklong strike by members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union, according to Food Product Design.
According to The Wall Street Journal, McKee Foods Corp. is offering $25 to $30 million dollars.
