Think you can dance? Find out tonight at Barking Legs Theater in an environment less hair-raising than an audition. (Screenshot: Staff)

Wondering what to do tonight? No need to check your planner—we’ve got your daily post on what’s happening around town.

Modern-day dance-off
Maybe you’re already tired of your New Year’s workout routine, or you’ve secretly always harbored hopes of making it onto the next season of “So You Think You Can Dance.” Either way, it couldn’t hurt to try your hand at a modern dance class. As part of session 1 of its two eight-week dance programs, Barking Legs Theater offers just such a class tonight—taught by MTSU graduate and Core Project Chicago alumnae Callie Johnson—for anyone who would like to “develop musicality, technical proficiency and personal confidence.”

When: 6:30-8 p.m.
Where: 1307 Dodds Ave.
How much: $15 for a drop-in class

Fancy dinner Tuesday
The typical Tuesday dinner might not be all that exciting, but Groupon has supplied an excuse to jazz up the early-in-the-week meal with a trip to a relatively new restaurant and a chance to expand your food repertoire. Chato Brasserie—don’t let the name scare you—is currently offering a 50 percent discount on a $40 check. Possible meals could include a sampling of small plates like the Korean BBQ duck and the truffle poached beet salad or two large plates such as the herb-crusted double-cut pork chop or the braised boneless short rib stroganoff.

When: Dinner served from 5-9 p.m.
Where: 200 Manufacturers Road
How much: $20 for $40 worth of food
