Chattanooga head football coach Russ  Huesman announced the hiring of Chris Harr as the Mocs’ tight ends coach on Saturday. Harr served as a student-assistant in 2012 following his four-year playing career at UTC (2007-10).

Harr, who spent his first season as a tight end, was a two-time All-Southern Conference selection at right tackle, and signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2011. He played in the preseason but did not make the final roster.

The 2012 tight ends coach Wesley Satterfield, will coach the running backs next season, filling the role left by the departure of Thomas Brown, who left for Georgia State earlier this week.

Harr came to UTC in 2007, playing in nine games at tight end as a true freshman. He switched to right tackle as a sophomore where he started all 34 games over the next three seasons. As a junior he was a second-team All-SoCon pick, and he received first-team recognition for the league’s coaches his senior year.

Harr earned a degree in Health & Human performance in December and is married to the former Brittany Eason, a three-time All-SoCon softball player at UTC (2007-10).
