Chattanooga Parking Authority reminds citizens that parking will be free on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Ticketing will not be enforced on those days, so no change needs to be put into the meters.

Additionally, parking meter fees will be suspended on the following holidays in 2013:

—Good Friday
—Memorial Day
—Fourth of July
—Labor Day
—Thanksgiving
—Christmas

However, parking in unlawful areas, such as handicapped spaces, beside a yellow curb, in a bus or loading zone, etc., is enforceable 24 hours a day, seven days a week, officials said.
