RJ Young Company acquires Chattanooga's Preferred Computers

Office products dealer RJ Young Company has acquired Chattanooga business Preferred Computers, leaders announced this week. 

Preferred Computers is a managed IT services provider and value-added reseller of computer network hardware and software.

“IT services fit into our core competencies and are a natural transition to a services-led organization. As our products have developed along with the technology that is available to our customers, we find ourselves more and more involved with our customers’ networks,” Chip Crunk, CEO and president of RJ Young Company, said in a prepared statement. 

The acquisition is effective immediately. 

Preferred Computers employees will continue to serve area customers under its name at the RJ Young office and distribution center in Chattanooga at the Bonny Oaks Office Park. 

RJ Young will begin supporting Preferred Computers customers with sales, supplies and backroom office infrastructure. 

Six Preferred Computers employees will join the 456 RJ Young Company employees.
