Chattanooga, the classroom
In the fall, the Scenic City served as a hands-on lab for students of the College of Architecture and Design at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Two classes of third-year budding architects focused on lots on O’Neal Street near East Third Street and at Cherry and Seventh streets. Representatives from the larger group will be at GreenSpaces tonight for a presentation of the budding architects' urban planning concepts: Think community connecting gateway spaces and multiuse, high-density housing.

On the Scottish tap
There’s a hole-in-the-wall bar tucked away in Red Bank on Ashland Terrace that not only fits the bill for a dart-filled, pool hall neighborhood tavern, but also cooks up the beer in the Scottish ale and Bloody IPA traditions in its attached nanobrewery. Try one or maybe more of McHale’s Brewhouse's home brews on the cheap with a side of Cornish pie or Scotch eggs.
