Chattanooga Interim Director of Athletics Laura Herron announced the hiring of Rachel Blunt as the Mocs’ new Director of Compliance this week.
Blunt’s responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of NCAA, Southern Conference and university rules compliance for the athletics department. Blunt comes to UTC from Southeast Missouri State, where she served as a compliance assistance for the Redhawks.
A former SEMO women’s basketball letter winner, she began her work in Southeast Missouri’s Compliance Office in 2009.
“We are excited to welcome Rachel to Chattanooga,” Herron said. “As a former student-athlete, she has first-hand knowledge of how important a strong support staff is in an athletic department. Her previous experience will definitely be an asset and we look forward to her leadership in compliance at UTC.”
Blunt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Southeast Missouri in 2009. She played basketball for the Redhawks during one of their most successful periods, participating in two NCAA Tournaments and a WNIT. She also set the school record for most games played.
She earned a Master's of Business Administration in Finance from SEMO in 2011.
