A new Ooltewah rehab and nursing facility is nearly complete.

Leaders of Life Care Center of Ooltewah will host an open house on Jan. 20 at the 5911 Snow Hill Road facility.

Leaders are expected to start taking patients in February.

Key leadership positions have been filled, but leaders are working to hire nursing, environmental services, dietary and therapy staff, according to a news release.

Eventually, the facility will employ about 150 people.

The facility is 75,000 square feet and will have short-term and long-term accommodations. There will be 69 private rooms, 23 semiprivate rooms and two private suites.

Patients will have access to a 4,200-square-foot rehab gym, "cutting-edge equipment," a physical therapy courtyard and a putting green, according to the news release.

Other amenities include a library, private dining room, spa, beauty shop, courtyards and ice cream parlor.

The facility will also have its own in-house physical, occupational and speech therapists.

Life Care is a nationwide facility with headquarters in Cleveland, Tenn.

According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, Life Care Centers of America Inc. is facing a law suit. The company is accused of systematically defrauding Medicare by pressuring therapists to perform costly, unnecessary treatments.
