What better way to make room for your new outdoor gear than by donating your old outdoor gear?

The Gear Closet, Chattanooga's outdoor gear resale shop, is accepting gently used donations of gear and clothing at their store, located at 535 Cherokee Blvd.

Donations are sold at resale prices, officials said, in an effort to provide the community with affordable outdoor gear options.

All donations are tax-deductible and go to support CaribbeanSEA and TenneSEA, which are clean water projects.

The store carries and accepts outdoor clothing for both adults and children and also offers consignment.

Winter hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For more information, email the store at or call 423-413-0471.
