Chattanooga Parking Authority reminds citizens that parking will be free on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Ticketing will not be enforced on those days, so no change needs to be put into the meters.

Additionally, parking meter fees will be suspended on the following holidays in 2013:

—Martin Luther King Jr. Day
—Good Friday
—Memorial Day
—Fourth of July
—Labor Day
—Thanksgiving
—Christmas

However, parking in unlawful areas, such as handicapped spaces, beside a yellow curb, in a bus or loading zone, etc., is enforceable 24 hours a day, seven days a week, officials said.
