AkzoNobel employees recently presented officials with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga with a $10,000 donation.

AkzoNobel is the largest global paints and coating company and a major producer of specialty chemicals. The donation was made through their Community Program and will be used to fund construction costs for the habitat's 239th home.

Twenty-one AkzoNobel employees also volunteered 100 hours to build the home, which is located in the East Lake community.

“The generosity of corporate partners like AkzoNobel helps us to provide affordable housing opportunities for hardworking and deserving families throughout Chattanooga,” Donna Williams, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga, said in a prepared statement. “We are tremendously grateful for the company’s ongoing support and commitment to enhance the quality of life in our community."
