SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Chattanooga senior Kayla Christopher has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 28, the league office announced Wednesday.
Christopher, a senior guard for the Lady Mocs, scored eight points in last week’s win over Portland State in the Saint Mary’s Thanksgiving Classic. The four-year starter became the 25th member of the Lady Mocs’ 1,000-Point Club.
The following day, Christopher connected on seven 3-pointers against Saint Mary’s — just one shy of the UTC school record — and finished with a season-high 27 points. Christopher 21st on the all-time scoring list at UTC, and she’s No. 4 — sixth in the SoCon — with 178 3-pointers.
Christopher holds a 3.56 GPA in Health and Exercise Science.
