Chattanooga’s Wes Dothard and Faysal Shafaat were both named to the 2012 College Sports Madness FCS Football All-American Team. Dothard and Shafaat each earned third-team recognition from the online publication.

This is the second straight year that Dothard, a 6-1, 235-pound linebacker, has earned All-American honors. He was a First Team Sports Network All-American selection in 2011.

Dothard led the Mocs in tackles this season with 94 overall (54 solo). He also had six tackles for loss, an interception and two forced fumbles while leading one of the FCS’ top defenses.

The 6-5, 240-pound Shafaat led all Southern Conference tight ends with 37 receptions. He racked up 295 receiving yards and tied for the team lead with five touchdown receptions. Shafaat is the first tight end at UTC to earn All-American honors.
