Local nonprofit accepting donations for hurricane victims

SCORE International, a Chattanooga-based nonprofit, is accepting donations on behalf of Hurricane Sandy victims.

The donations, which will be distributed in New York and New Jersey, can be donated at the SCORE International office at 707 S. Germantown Road or at the First Volunteer Bank in Ringgold, located at 5102 Alabama Highway.

Four relief mission trips will also be offered in addition to the donated items, which will help victims of the hurricane who are still without power and in need of supplies protection against the cold.

SCORE is asking for gently used coats, clean blankets, sleeping bags, flashlights, batteries, paper towels, toilet paper and peanut butter for residents in need.
