Chattanooga Parking Authority announced Monday that there will be no charge to park at downtown parking meters on Thanksgiving (Nov. 22) and Black Friday (Nov. 23).

Ticketing will not be enforced on those days, so no change needs to be put into the meters.

Additionally, parking meter fees will be suspended on the following holidays:

—New Year's Day
—Martin Luther King Jr. Day
—Good Friday
—Memorial Day
—Fourth of July
—Labor Day
—Christmas

However, parking in unlawful areas, such as handicapped spaces, beside a yellow curb, in a bus or loading zone, etc., is enforceable 24 hours a day, seven days a week, officials said.
