Chattanooga senior Steven Fox opens play at the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 19-20. Fox faces 22 of the college game’s top players at El Paso Country Club in El Paso, Texas.

Fox gained entry in the event as United States Amateur Champion. The remainder of the field includes first-, second- and third-team All-Americans from the 2011-12 season and the Division II Player of the Year.

The schedule includes 36 holes Monday on the Par 71, 6781-yard layout. The final round Tuesday is at 8 a.m.

Fox is the second UTC player to compete in the event. Jonathan Hodge (2006-09) played in the 2008 tournament, finishing 15th at plus two (215), one shot ahead of current PGA Tour star Rickie Fowler, then of Oklahoma State.

The Mocs are off until February when they open the spring schedule at the Redstone Collegiate Challenge at Redstone Golf Club in Humble, Texas. Redstone is home to the Shell Houston Open PGA Tour event.
