After discussing local whiskey production in front of a packed chamber, the Hamilton County Commission proceeded with their routine agenda preparation session Thursday morning.

The less-attended meeting found commissioners considering resolutions and contracts that the group will vote on officially next week.

Among the items was a resolution accepting the bid of DBS Corporation for $2.4 million for a new Homeless Health Care Clinic on East 11th Street. It allows Mayor Jim Coppinger to sign contracts necessary to implement the resolution.

The commission also approved a resolution accepting the bid of North American Salt Company for a one-year contract for highway de-icing salt, beginning later this month.

The commission will meet next on Nov. 21.
