Car shopping and automotive information website Edmunds.com has released its 2013 New Car Buying Guide, which offers recommendations for every new vehicle.

“These buying guides are meant to help you learn which models are standouts before you begin to shop,” Edmunds.com Managing Editor Donna DeRosa said in a prepared statement. “Whether you're looking for a fuel-efficient small sedan, an eight-passenger crossover SUV, a sleek luxury coupe or anything in between, these recommended vehicles should help establish some guidelines for your search.”

The guide offers 10 different vehicle segments—traditional passenger vehicles, hybrids, electric and diesel vehicles, and trucks.

Anyone interested in a used car from within the past five years can look at recent buyer's guides: 2012201120102009 and 2008.
