Wondering what to do tonight? No need to check your planner—we’ve got your daily post on what’s happening around town.

Handy ladies
Depending on your do-it-yourself acumen, Ace Hardware may be a familiar or foreign storefront, but have no fear: The Christmas Place at the East Brainerd location of the fix-it neighborhood chain is hosting a night just for the ladies. Tonight, Chattanooga women can learn the finer arts of building a tree topper, manipulating mesh to strengthen a homemade wreath and arranging ribbon on a tree, all while enjoying Earth Fare refreshments. Christmas decorations will also be available at a 20 percent discount.

When: 6-9:30 p.m.

Doubles at the Doubletree
It could be an overstatement to say a hotel bar is guaranteed to present you with the unique opportunity to meet a collection of entertaining strangers, but it wouldn’t be entirely false. With holiday traveling picking up, the hotels downtown will be filling up, and with the holidays bringing families together for extended or compact periods of time, some might be taking a cue from David Sedaris and spending the holidays on ice. The H2O Bar at the Doubletree Hotel has you covered.

When: 5-7 p.m.
Where: 407 Chestnut St.
How much: Two for one well drinks and beer
