The Chattanooga campus of the University of Phoenix, in partnership with the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center, will offer free mammogram screenings this Thursday, Nov. 15.

The screenings are open to women older than 40 who have not had a mammogram in at least 12 months. The event is for women both with and without insurance.

Mammograms will be given from 1 to 7 p.m. The University of Phoenix's Chattanooga campus is located at 1208 Point Centre Drive, Suite 100.

The National Cancer Institute recommends that women older than 40 should have a mammogram every one to two years. Mammograms help reduce the number of deaths from breast cancer for women between the ages of 40 and 70, according to NCI.
