Chattanooga firefighters and emergency responders will host a charity pancake breakfast Nov. 10 on behalf of the son of a fellow firefighter.

Senior firefighter Jason Greer's son, Tristin, has been battling neuroblastoma for several years, and the financial costs have become catastrophic for the family. Fellow firefighters hope the breakfast can aid the family with the costs associated with the disease.

With the breakfast, there will be an acoustic show featuring American Idol finalist Bucky Covington, hosted by the firefighters association and Help the Good Guys.

The cost of the breakfast is $5, and the show is free of charge.

A raffle to win a customized guitar signed by Covington will also be $5.

“I can't imagine how hard it would be if one of my own children was going through this, and then to have to worry about all the bills on top of that,” Capt. Rick Boatright, coordinator of the fundraiser, said. “Hopefully, with this event, we can try to take a little pressure off of this family.”

The breakfast will take place at Station 1 (218 E. Main St.) from 8-11 a.m.

For those who cannot make it to the breakfast but would still like to make a donation, they can be sent to CFFA L820, C/O Jason Greer, P.O. Box 24683, Chattanooga, TN 37422.
